This is my design for the corporate identity of the Carbon Reduction Institute. It outlines the rules that govern the use of the logo system and what the logo means. Agincourt Hotel's Website Design

Agincourt Hotel has just become carbon neutral and wanted an eco-friendly/classy (yet approachable) site. This site is updated mainly through CMS by the hotel's proprietor so, again, content is constantly updated. Here is the end result: http://www.agincourthotel.com.au/.

Fairchild Asia Pacific website

This is my design for Fairchild Asia Pacific. They wanted a subtle flash banner on the left of the home page to indicate the climbing of a pyramid towards golden wealth. Armstrong Legal Website design

Armstrong Legal is a legal firm that deals with Criminal, Traffic and Family Law. A major factor in designing this site was that it had to be search engine friendly. The SEO group decided on and helped write the content. The challenge was to try to fit their categories in the body with easily navigatable menu structures as well as being search engine friendly. Branding of the Carbon Reduction Institute

This is a major project that involved designing a corporate logo for the Carbon Reduction Institute as well as certification logos, website (graphics, CSS, etc.), brochures and stationery. Here you can see the website design noco2.com.au and the certification logos. For the "Low CO2", my approach was that even if a business has low CO2 emissions, it is still emitting CO2 in the atmosphere. Thus, the atmosphere was heavy with the greenhouse gases. So the logo is really heavy from its top side. With the "NoCO2", all the greenhouse gases are still in the soil and the earth's atmosphere is clean. The "Pre Green" and the "Green Choice" logos are related to how a business chooses to reduce or eliminate its carbon emissions. The theme is correlated but, in essence, they depict a young tree on its way to absorb carbon emissions in the atmosphere throughout its life-cycle.

Defiance

This is my first attempt at painting portraits. I used aquarelle on canvas. I chose to create something challenging in colours and shading. Here is the end result.

Nicer Dicer TVC

Our company is the distributor for this product "Nicer Dicer" in Australia. For the Australian market, I directed the audio recording (voice over) and sourced the background music. Then, I used Adobe Photoshop with Adobe Premiere to edit the video footage, edit the audio and insert it into the timeline, create and add the text effects and sound effects and finalise it for TV. It goes on air in Australia on January 11th, 2007. I used the template for the HTML from the American site but you can now view the Nicer Dicer TVC HERE.

Australian Sommeliers Association

The Australian Sommeliers Association has its Annual General Meeting (AGM) coming up and I was commissioned to design an invitation to be sent out to all the members.
I chose a simple, clean design to advertise the occasion. The role of the sommelier is to be an authority on wine and this profession has a great deal of class and sophistication associated with it. Thus, the invitation had to be classy, yet subtle.

My new design for PestXit

I designed our new website www.pestxit.com. If you go to the "Media" section, you will see our two TV adverts. I edited them using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. I am getting more and more into video editing for TV and am currently working on a few other ads. I will post them when they are ready.

Hot Tan Magazine Advert

This is our latest ad. This was an interesting issue that I had to tackle here. If you look at the previous ad I designed for Vogue, you will notice that it is horizontal. Since this new ad is vertical, I had to create more room on top. I painted the sky in photoshop then blended it onto the original. I used a gradient from top to bottom. Then, I applied an effect to the whole photo to create a granular effect and totally blend the new sky in.
I applied the "gradient effect" theory onto my floating text. The text layout symbolises serenity, calm breeze, relaxation and harmony.

3D Model of Jail Cell

I created this 3D model in MORAY. Moray is a free online software. I used height fields to create the walls of the cell to give it its grungy, peeled look. I created the height fields in Adobe Photoshop then imported them into Moray. The theme for this cell was from the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" (hence the poster on the wall). I created all the textures for the objects by adjusting luminosity, opacity, colour and other elements to create the rust on the window, the chess pieces made of stone as well as the porcelain sink. All in all, I feel I have captured the solitude of the jail but also hope.

Dreamer

This is part of my black and white photography collection which I will be adding regularly. Title: Dreamer. I took this photo with my CANON SLR and developed the film myself of course. I burned the left side of the image and dodged the right side to show the state of "where she is" and "where she would like to be". The writing behind her provides a backdrop of country names that add to the yearning mode of the photo.

Liquid Logic Fractal Engine

I got my dynamic XML fractal engine to work on my site! This is my portfolio site that I am still working on. Still, if you visit www.liquidlogic.com.au and go to the "Experiments" link, have a look at the fractal. It is looking great now and the links are functional. This gives new meaning to browsing the internet. Instead of back and forward buttons, you can browse in depth and zoom in and out. Once you get to the last link, it will zoom out the fractal and close it.This is based on Chad Corbin's work on fractals.

Vaccinate

This website was created for VACCINATE, a Sydney-based company that specialises in providing corporations with access to vaccines for their staff members. I designed it in DotNetNuke as a skin. When designing skins, the client is responsible for updating content. Of course, I designed the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) for it as part of the skin.

Sydney Breast Enlargement

The client approached me to redesign his old site. I chose a sparse layout that expresses a clean and healthy environment. This occupation is not only about beauty, it is about surgery. So I wanted to give the visitor a feeling of trust in the clean, surgical environment while also giving the site warmth and hospitality.

Dingo Fence Website

Photographer Tressa Dixon took a journey for more than a year in outback Australia. Her aim: To photograph and document the famous Rabbit-Proof Fence which was later used against Dingos. I designed this site using earth tones to complement the feel of the journey. Oranges, yellows and tones of red contrast agianst the black to correlate with the land, heat and the harsh nature of that stretch of land.

Sydney Beauty Show

This is a large banner (around 7 metres wide x 2 metres high) that wrapped around our stand during the 2006 Sydney Beauty Show in Darling Harbour. You can see Holly Brisley's face in one of the photos. We received excellent feedback for the stylish design of the banner.

Imogen Bailey and Holly Brisley Photoshoot

I was the art director of this photoshoot with model Imogen Bailey (here seen with male model Alex) and actress Holly Brisley (Australian TV show Home and Away). We shot it against a white backdrop so that I can cut out the image for later superimposition. We used this particular shot on one of our big banners. It was a successful shoot and we had a great stylist and make-up artist.

Cool Gel

This is our March 2006 ad placed in several publications such as Star Magazine and Cleo. This ad was particularly interesting in that I scanned all the sides of our Cool Gel Wax (the sides that I needed to represent) and then put them together in Photoshop. Then I cloned the shadow of the girl from the ground and applied it to the product. There is a blue theme throughout the design of course.

Hot Tan in CLEO

Here is my design for our advert in CLEO magazine. It also appeared in a few other publications. Hot Tan with Frangipani Essence. The white and blue contrast created a perfect backdrop for a beautifully tanned body. I went for a simplistic layout. We got great feedback from customers, retailers and magazine art directors.

ClubMag

This advert is our latest in Priceline's ClubMag. I designed it witha a long white strip representing human skin with hair follicles. I wanted to stress that hair removal wax, unlike shaving, removes hair from teh root.
I placed the word "NATURAL" behind the hair thus creating a feeling of "bush". Natural is always good but I guess some prefer smooth skin.

Vogue Ad

This is our latest advert in Vogue Mgazine, October 2006 issue. The product being advertised is Hot Tan Total Body Tan with Frangipani Essence. I designed this ad with a feel of island relaxation and summer freshness. Of course, summer is about to begin here in Australia.
Incidently, I designed the packaging of Hot Tan. After careful research of the Australian market, I realised that all tanning products had similar colour schemes: orange, yellow, blue, etc. Hot Tan really stands out on shelf. It sells like hot cakes!

Hot Legs Prize Advert Design

Here is a design advertising our prize that we offered customers of Hot Legs Hair Removal Products. This advert was placed in several Australian magazines including OK! Magazine and NOTEBOOK. I photographed the products seperately and super-imposed them. Then, I created reflections to give the illusion of glass. The font used is Century Gothic.
